This guy installed an engine that was supposed to only have 50,000 miles on it. Within 90 days I have had it back into them four times for check engine lights. Everytime he finds something un-related to his warranty on the engine. The original quote of $1650 turned into $2150+ on the engine install. When he pitched his company he said parts like plugs and seals would be included in the $1650 price but when I got the bill they were added in separately. I have now spent another $495.00 beyond that and today he tells me I need a catalytic converter for another $800+ dollars!!! He will "bait and switch" you just like he did me. This place is a rip off and you have to take the car back on check engine light stuff to them because of their warranty. Within 8/weeks the car was leaking at the rear main seal. He lies; telling me I can only use "factory part only" at a cost of $643.18. I have checked there is an after market part that is legal to use according to new legislation as of December '08. But Robb is still ripping off people for factory only. He tried to do the same thing with a friend's truck. He quoted $1280.+ to fix a P171 & P174 code (running lean in bank 1 and 2). The price to actually fix it was $420.00 throught a dealer no less!!! Do NOT go here unless you want to contribute to his wealth. He didn't get that bus sized motorhome and 45' speed boat by not ripping people off!!!! BUYER BEWARE HERE!!!!

The same thing happened to us!!! Robb makes you sign a second signature line stating that you "autorize" any up charge in your estimated cost. That's his ticket to stick it to you for an extra $500-$600. This is common practice for this shop. He bragged to us how he goes by the book, it they allow 10/hours to install an engine and it only takes Robb's shop 4/hours...they still bill you for the 10/hours even though they didn't spend that time working on it. I have a witness to that statement directly from the owner! Our experience was similar in that we were up charged by $597.00 more than quoted. Just because some place installs the most engines in a year, does NOT make them the best. "The cheap comes out expensive here." Do business at your own risk, you've been warned!!

I'm a technician, I've been in the field for many years and understand the customers side. A good tech will make approx.$20 per hour on a job "by the book" the book says 4 hours on a job.. it takes a tech 8..they only get paid for 4 ! If they do it in 2 they still get paid for 4. Pretty easy right ? No ! An average tech spends 50% of their day diagnosing problems for lots of the times nothing. Many times the customer will take it to some back yard guy to do the work for a 12 pack. Also an average tech spends up to $10,000.00 a year on tools, education, updates, etc. "ASE" is not a joke, take it to a dealership, I work at one, and your $2,150 bill is nothing compared to a dealership. I hope I speak for many of the techs out there that work hard to make an honest living.
