get real you clown, ECC beat North Central because they shut down the other 4 players on the court which kept the ball out of Gordons hands. Angel Garcia was the dominant player in that game and Moore was good but I don't recall him even guarding Gordon. It was Gordon against 3 solid played for ECC. The 3rd guy was Kaawam Short who looks a lot like DeAndre Thoms, a Barkley-esque player in the paint that had good footwork and got lots of rebound buckets. Garcia seemed to get 3 pt plays over and over. ECC built a big lead and Gordon single handedly brought them back, too little too late in the 4th quarter.
Not to mention, Angel Garcia, who really won the game for ECC is leaning heavly to IU.

Are you joking Boilers? Do you really not understand why there are stories about IU's recruits and none about Purdue's recruits?
You see, IU basketball is a brand name to which many, MANY people in the state of Indiana subscribe. Purdue basketball is not. Thus, if you give people in any part of the state the chance to see just the recruiting class on the court, guess what?! The arena will be full and the action will be something to tell your friends about (as in, "I remember when I saw Eric Gordon play in the Barnstorming Tour").
Your kid brother syndrome is really pretty sad. Face it - no matter how much talking you do about how much coverage the Purdue recruits *should* be getting, they will NEVER garner the attention that IU does.
This is not a matter of opinion - what you think about this is irrelevant. There is an established king of basketball in this state, and then there is everyone else.
Exactly. And why just complain about the Star? Why not ESPN for running a segment on Eric Gordon a couple months ago? Why not Sports Illustrated for naming IU as one of the "top 10 teams best positioned for success over the next decade".

Why don't you complain to those news sources as well?

When will the Purdorks get it? It's funny they don't think they succomb to the 'little brother syndrome'. It's so obvious.

"Waahhhhhhhh, Waahhh, IU gets more coverage than us."

Hey fellas..win 5 Championships, 8 final fours, and get 10-12 nationally televised games each year. Then you may have an argument.

purdue's series lead was largely built on the backs of players who for the most part are passed away. john wooden's era for instance had great sucess against indiana. purdue had tremendous runs in the 1910s, 20s, and 30s. if you look at RECENT HISTORY iu has had the upper hand. even mike davis had a winning record against purdue which is something boiler fans can't stand. but lets face it. i think it would be fun to watch florida kick the crap out of iu and pu in football because frankly its getting old beating the dog s&*t out of overrated ohio state.

Yes, Purdue only has about 110 wins against IU in basketball. IU, of course, has yet to hit 90 against Purdue. No one has ever accused a loser IU fan (or grad) of being able to count.
In football, Purdue has twice the number of wins in the bucket game than IU has.
I'm not sure IU has ever beaten Purdue in women's basketball. I think Purdue has won four times as many as IU?
The "one time" that IU refers to must mean the one year that IU actually had a good football team. Wait, that has yet to happen, doesn't it?

well chris your statement is fairly accurate but indiana didn't play its first official college basketball game until 1901. so there is no way purdue beat iu in the late 1800s. iu's programs was indeed in shambles the first part of the 1900s. in its first 28 years as a program iu had 18 coaches. during this time with a few expections purdue put a serious beat down on indiana. btw that first game in 1901 iu lost to butler 20 to 17.

Here is what I said earlier. I'm reposting it because I'm waiting for some intelligent Purdue fan to come up with a fitting rebuttal.
Rebuttal means to refute what I said with an equally clever and contrary remark. For the sake of instruction, "Nuh uh," is not a rebuttal, nor is any form of insult.

Sorry - my reference to the late 1800's was regarding the club sport days of IU basketball. Those things don't show up in record books.

""I'm not sure IU has ever beaten Purdue in women's basketball.""

LOL at using Women's Basketball as a talking point.
If you tools want to talk about Women's Basketball in the same conversation with Men's sports...then maybe we should also bring up IU's stellar soccer program. Hey, soccer's the most popular sport in the world..and it's fair game to talk about it if you Purdorks are going to taut a women's sport.

Ever wonder why Purdue doesn't have a soccer team? They tried to implement a soccer program back in the late 70's in order to compete with in state rivals Notre Dame and IU. Purdue drove down to IU for a game and IU beat the tar out of them 28-0.
Purdue drove back to Lafayette, canceled their scheduled games, and gave up on their soccer program.

They don't consider any sport they aren't good at as a sport. Or in this case, any sport they don't field a team for. Which pretty much means basketball and football are the only sports in college athletics.

Barnstorming not for Boilermakers
UPI: August 8, 2007
West Lafayette, IN- Coach Matt Painter and the Purdue athletic department declared today that the men's basketball team would not be particpating in any barnstorming tours across Indiana in the near future. The announcement came in the aftermath of a preliminary trial conducted by the team's coaches and players at a nearby farm outside Lafayette. Coach Painter characterized the exercise as "personally satisfying on some level but not quite consistent with our goals for the program".
According to the release issued jointly by the Purdue University Department of Athletics (PUDA) and the School of Law Enforcement, new members of the men's basketball team and the coaching staff reinforced by criminal justice majors stormed a local dairy barn in the early morning hours this last Sunday in full riot gear with assault weapons. " Although this was a one-time deal, I am happy to report that contray to popular opinion the incoming players in our 2007 class can indeed hit the broadside of a barn door", said Painter. "All of our freshmen recruits made their marks on the barn and outbuildings and Robbie Hummel in particular showed that he's deserving of his reputation for marksmanship by lofting a couple of tear gas canisters into the second story loft from downtown" .
Painter said that though he now understood why some coaches held annual barnstorming tours that even if Purdue chose to make it annual aspect of team training and practice that Purdue still wouldn't tour or need to since their were more than enough barns around Lafayette. "That's just another great thing about this campus - we'll never have to go on the road to find enough barns". He continued, "No question that it was exhilirating and a definite positive for building team spirit and camaraderie, but its just too much preparation for only a few minutes of actual drill. On the positive side we absolutely own that barn, especially since we had to pay for it afterwards, and just need to figure out how to translate that onto the court".
As planned, no cows were injured in the assault although the cows' owner, Needmore Haggus, reported that as of yesterday none of them had given milk in three days. "i'd like to support the team however I can but I just don't reckon this barnstorming business will hunt", said Mr. Haggus. "My cows are undone, my wife's about to have one and my barn looks like 9/11".
Painter added that the farmer's distress made it clear why some schools have to travel so far each summer to find avaiilable venues for barnstorming but remained optimistic about local prospects if Pudue should decide to revisit the activity.'People have a lot of wrong ideas about Lafayette and the University just because it's a locust for studying things like engineering and agriculture and uh, boilermaking, but it's more than that. Most folks round here are in fact simple minded, hard-working, God-fearing sons and daughters of the pioneers - you know, morons, and if we need barns to storm for the good of Purdue basketball, we'll have them in plenty, especially since the Univeristy has already contacted the city and county to see about passing a local ordinance to insure that only local ordnance is used in any future barnstorming".

I dont know if you Purdue fans are waiting for a article about the pick up you guys got today but they just got a commitment from Lewis Jackson. Its pretty bad when an IU fan from out of state picks up on this before you guys do.
Anyway it is a great pick up for you guys. Plus i hear that Zeller and Jackson are pretty good buddies. Rummor has it is that both Jackson and Zeller were talking about going to Purdue together after the Vegas trip.
I think i you Boiler fans spent more time doing due diligence on your team instead of talking crap out IU you could of found this out as well.
