Still a wee bit shaky after today's events. I got a text message from GDACS - the Global Disaster Alert and Coordination System - letting me know about an 8.1 magnitude quake near the Solomons today could send us a tsunami.

Papua New Guinea has secured the rights to host the 2015 Pacific Games. This was confirmed after the Pacific Games Council meeting today in Rarotonga where PNG secured 25 votes beating Tonga with 22 votes.
