Full story: www.russiatoday.ru

The famous AK-47 rifle has remained unsurpassed in its durability and reliability for almost 70 years. Its creator Mikhail Kalashnikov marks his 90th birthday on Tuesday. Mikhail Kalashnikov dreamt about protecting people, but his invention became the weapon of choice for two-thirds of the world’s armed forces, not to mention militants. In spite of this, Kalashnikov preaches a message of peace and kindness.

The Kalashnikov's reliability is what makes it so popular around the world... making those Russian detractors very angry... The Kalashnikov remains unsurpassd in it sreliability and durability... and good for Kalashnikov for creating such a great rifle...

The Kalashnikkov was more or less copied from a German wartime assault rifle which went not to full production.

I have known since 40's, that the model for Russian Kalashnikov was the German assault rifle from the end of the war.
Kalashnikov made it better than the original one but for sure Germans as well had made it better had the war not ended so soon for them.

In any case Kalashnikov is 90 years old now. He is in good health and continues to work.
Is it wonderfully to live with such full life at his age, isn't it?
My congratulations to him.

Yes, Congratulations to Kalashnikov for his great invention, which makes the biased, hate-filled Russophobes gnash their teeth, and make rude remarks... Nevertheless, Kalashnikov did a great thing and I hope he lives to be a hundred... and invents yet something else...

I don't think that Kalashnikov wanted to leave Russia or regretted that he was not the millionaire.
He is cheerful and pleased always. He lives in a prosperity and is engaging in favourite business today while he is 90.
He is very Soviet in good sense. He was a simple sergeant during WW2.
He is talented engineer. It is necessary to be a successful businessman for that to be a millionaire.
I don't think that he wants to leave Russia now.
See at him, in any case he is happy now. Russian people love him and respect him very much
Is his life successful, isn't it?

He could have made millions but being a russian peasant that he is he did not. Besides don"t they pay him any royalties? Some how I don"t believe him when he says that he did not make any money from the AK-47 rifle.
He probaly is a millionaire but he just wont say it to the public.

So he did not patented? LOL typical russian peasant. But how do you know he did not patented? Leave Russia? Why would he leave his own homeland? He seems like a real patriot. Not a racist nationalist but just a patriotic person.

Daily Horoscope for December 27

Sagittarius

After all the excitement of the past few days you're longing for the chance to put your feet up and take life easy for a while. Ideally, you should bury your nose in a good book and be left alone until you resurface for a food transfusion. But you'll also enjoy chatting to someone you know very well and for whom you don't have to make a big effort, such as a close relative.
