Whatever you say, tarmo. You need to understand though, that Russia and Europe are not enemies anymore. This isn't 1940s. This project is not a sneak attack by Russia on EU, it's a PARTNERSHIP, with the goal being to satisfy European energy needs. Russia has the resources, Europe has the customers. As simple as that.

That statement doesn't make sense. European countries still have the choice to purchase their gas where they see fit, and many will keep having several suppliers.

EU countries can't even agree on an energy policy, even less on the supply sources!

Countries that have chosen nuclear for their energy supply won't depend from Russia, in any case. Those that buy part of their gas from Russia want the safest and most reliable transit; that doesn't exist now, and North Stream is the solution.

Unfortunately, Sweden tends to be more conformist in its relations with Russia compared to Denmark. That has always been the case under Palme, Ingvar Carlsson and even under Bildt. Denmark has always been playing against Russia by Denmark's rules and did great! So was the case even not so long ago after Russia tried to embargo Danish goods (that was, of course, another stupid move by Russia in a long series of foreign policy failures). If Denmark has told "Yes" Sweden will, in all likelihood, do the same. Unfortuately for Europe which has decided to deal with the Kremlin and people who has cause more murders and suffering in the world history than any other nation.

It's a bit useless I think to compare both countries on such narrow criteria.

Sweden has been neutral for the last 200 years, and has lived as a post-imperial nation for all that time. For your information, Sweden has lost foothold in Lithuania-Poland, has lost Norway and Finland through its history. It's now a much smaller country that has developed thanks to its micro-economy, and neutrality.

Russia was imperial until 1917, before becoming part of a large union. In the last 200 years, Russia has experienced a revolution and 2 huge conflicts, lost a large part of its population, had its infrastructure demolished, etc... Russia is an immense country, under-populated, with massive resources it cannot explore because of adverse location or labour shortage.

The 2 countries are like chalk and cheese.

We are the world leader in automation and power distribution, one of the largest suppliers of industrial robots etc etc.

I can name numerous world leading companies but what does muscovy have? Just raw material and a bunch of retards - just like in africa.
