The U.S. had a lot of help with the Orange revolution.
The Ukrainian Canadian Congress also stepped up to the plate and did their part to screw over Ukraine.

I disagree with you but say that you are correct about Yushenko being a puppet and the Revolution was staged. Do you think the US pulled it off all by themselves and your own country and Europe wasn't complicit? You give us too much credit. Come on.
Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't that puppet backed by George Soros and his Open Society Institute, that "the cradle of democratisation"? Or was that just in Georgia?
It's no wonder to me that situation in Russia is the way it is now. By the way, how much money did Soros make in Ukraine?

Isn't there plenty to be made in siphoning gas? Maybe not... is that sort of thing limited to only the politicians?

What about blue? The Ukrainian flag has a pretty shade of blue. Blue is the color of the sky, has a calming effect and "light blue is associated with health, healing, tranquility, understanding, and softness."
On second thought, that doesn't sound like it would work well for a revolution. Sorry.

Yushchenko is the typical American puppet. Installed in power by Washingtom machination, doing the bidding for America, desinterested in his country's welfare, but faithfully serving America's interest. If he hadn't done it already, I would say: That man will go far!
Everybody who has witnessed the shenanigans of the Orange Revolution knows for whom it was arranged, who masterminded it, to what end, and what was the role of NGOs in chanelling funds and equipment during the elections.
The crowd stand-off in Maydam was fully orchestrated, with people paid, fed and transported to demonstrate. All that, whilst Yushchenko whereabouts were showing daily visits to the US embassy, where he took his orders, where his speeches were writen.
Even better, the CIA had an agent in his bedroom! His American wife used to work for the State Department. If that doesn't qualify him as a puppet, I don't know what will!
Once 'elected', he acted in the interest of America and his policy inspired by the Bush administartion was to consumate the divorce between Russia and Ukraine by adopting an hostile rethoric and creating several energy crisis.
Washington feared that Russia, Ukraine and Belarus could work together and did its best to split them apart.
The Bush administration promised NATO membership and EU card as well, as if it was in its remit.
Thanksfully, most European leaders saw through that subterfuge and blocked both!
But Yushchenko has delivered what Washington intended: the 2 countries are barely in speaking terms. Now he can be thrown to the dogs: his ratings are 3%!! No doubt he will take refuge in America and spend his hard-earned cash. Just like Reza Palhevi or Marcos before him.
Excellent! You transcribed the latest script you received from Moosecow onto the forum letter perfect. Good Job!

how about this jewel ?

“According to our data, Georgia continues to receive military assistance from the NATO countries, Israel and Ukraine like it was before the events of August, 2008.
The US is training Georgian personnel in accordance with NATO tactics. Israel supplies Georgia with unmanned aircraft and Ukraine delivers heavy weaponry, including tanks and air defense systems,”
Ukrainian Parliament’s investigative commission “On issues of clarifying and establishing the facts of supplies to Georgia Ukrainian military equipment in violation of Ukrainian legislation and international law”,
so if we were to name the new revolution as crooked dealings ?

I don't need to transcribe anything. I can observe, enquire, make my own analysis, draw conclusion, express my opinion, make a point and defend an argument without any help.

Maybe you just don't like the message, so you try to dicredit the messanger? Are you so clueless that you have to resort to that sort of tactic?

There may be other parties involved, but the US administration was the mastermind behind the Orange Revolution, like all colour revolutions: in Georgia, an attempt in Belarus, another one in one of the Central republics.
Even in Russia, preparations were made through NGOs to prepare the ground for massive unrest. The Kremlin discovered that and passed a law restricting foreign NGOs.

It was all part of the Bush administration's strategy to isolate and weaken Russia to bring it to be mode amenable at the discussion table. By creating a schism between Russian and its former satellites. Belarus and Ukraine were too close to Moscow under Lukashenko and Kuchma, and the 'colour revolutions' were supposed to bring a change with new leaders groomed by the US, and adopting a politic of distance with Moscow.

Some say that even Putin's sworn enemy Berezovsky financed part of Yushchenko's campaign . He had a hand in Georgia's 'revolution'.

I really can't see the British government involved in that: Blair wasn't machiavelic enough for this sort of thing, and would have let Bush deals with it. As such, Britain never takes initiative in foreign policy, and just follows the US; our governments has unfortunately that subservient mentality, and thinks it serves the country better.

But you may be right after all. The Kremlin banning the British Council in most big Russian towns and closing down its 'schools' may be an indication of their suspicion.

Yushchenko is almost certain to be eliminated from the presidential race.
My hunch is that he only put his candidature for president to be part of the campaign, have access to media exposure and use it to discredit Timoshenki.
The 2 Orange Revolution leaders fell out years ago, and have been unable to work together. Yushchenko sacked Timoshenko from the post of Prime Minister, only to have to take her back under pressure from the Rada where she commands respect and has a lot of followers.
Just as Timoshenko's popularity in the country has been growing, Yushchenko's star has been fading, and the country can clearly see that his interventions in the economy added to his erratic foreign policy are the reasons for the country's decline/
Timoshenko presents a more pragmatic image, ready to dialogue and compromise, and is better equiped to defend Ukraine's interests. She could even work with Yanugovich is that was needed, to form a government of unity, something that is abhorent to Yushchenko for whom a strict pseudo-nationalist anti-Russia doctrine is valid, comes what may.
So, I predict that Yushchenko's presidential campaign will be mostly negative and aimed at dicrediting Timoshenko. Only the die-hard Ukrainian nationalist, Galicians and those hell-bent anti-Russians will vote for him: less than 3%!!
And excelent comment. Now it is quite obvious that no PR campaign may help Yushchenko. Now, when Yushchenko is a president and Timoshenko is a premier minister, and Ukraine suffers economic crisis and other problems, the ration of both of them are likely to decline, and the question is who benefits from it? When Eastern region of Ukraine are the industrial heart of the country, the government represents the opinion of mostly Western Ukraine in historiography, education, NATO plan. Isn't there a contradiction?

Daily Horoscope for December 22

Aquarius

Unfortunately it won't take much to get your wires crossed, especially if you're trying to keep track of your Christmas preparations. It's hard to work out what still needs to be done. A member of the family is away with the fairies or is being completely fanciful. It's a pest because that sort of behavior can make you feel anxious and harassed.
