1 Yushchenko would be lucky to get 15% of the votes in a presidential race according to the polls. He is completely discredited in Ukraine. He stands no chance to be given a ministerial post in his rivals' governments. His political career is at an end. |

1 85% of Ukrainians have stated they will not vote for a Yushchenko second term. He is currently has less then 3.5% according to most polls and is now the worlds least supported head of state. By running again he will bring not only himself but also the office of President into disrepute. |

2 Yushchenko is almost certain to be eliminated from the presidential race. My hunch is that he only put his candidature for president to be part of the campaign, have access to media exposure and use it to discredit Timoshenki. The 2 Orange Revolution leaders fell out years ago, and have been unable to work together. Yushchenko sacked Timoshenko from the post of Prime Minister, only to have to take her back under pressure from the Rada where she commands respect and has a lot of followers. Just as Timoshenko's popularity in the country has been growing, Yushchenko's star has been fading, and the country can clearly see that his interventions in the economy added to his erratic foreign policy are the reasons for the country's decline/ Timoshenko presents a more pragmatic image, ready to dialogue and compromise, and is better equiped to defend Ukraine's interests. She could even work with Yanugovich is that was needed, to form a government of unity, something that is abhorent to Yushchenko for whom a strict pseudo-nationalist anti-Russia doctrine is valid, comes what may. So, I predict that Yushchenko's presidential campaign will be mostly negative and aimed at dicrediting Timoshenko. Only the die-hard Ukrainian nationalist, Galicians and those hell-bent anti-Russians will vote for him: less than 3%!! |

1 Looks like Pesky touched a raw nerve there!! His harsh statement only reflects the opinion of many: the Orange Revolution was stage-managed from Washington and Yushchenko is merely a US puppet. He did a good job for the USA in splitting the Ukraine from Russian even further, without looking after the interest of his country. |

1 No nerve at all. It is just so much fun to turn Pissyface's asinine comments back on him again. Your puppet comment is typical pro-Russian propaganda. If they don't agree with you then they must be managed by the (evil, in your eyes), west. You are so predictable and so full of nonsense. You think you know all about Russia and the west but in your own British slang, "you know DAMN all". |

1 Yushchenko is the typical American puppet. Installed in power by Washingtom machination, doing the bidding for America, desinterested in his country's welfare, but faithfully serving America's interest. If he hadn't done it already, I would say: That man will go far! Everybody who has witnessed the shenanigans of the Orange Revolution knows for whom it was arranged, who masterminded it, to what end, and what was the role of NGOs in chanelling funds and equipment during the elections. The crowd stand-off in Maydam was fully orchestrated, with people paid, fed and transported to demonstrate. All that, whilst Yushchenko whereabouts were showing daily visits to the US embassy, where he took his orders, where his speeches were writen. Even better, the CIA had an agent in his bedroom! His American wife used to work for the State Department. If that doesn't qualify him as a puppet, I don't know what will! Once 'elected', he acted in the interest of America and his policy inspired by the Bush administartion was to consumate the divorce between Russia and Ukraine by adopting an hostile rethoric and creating several energy crisis. Washington feared that Russia, Ukraine and Belarus could work together and did its best to split them apart. The Bush administration promised NATO membership and EU card as well, as if it was in its remit. Thanksfully, most European leaders saw through that subterfuge and blocked both! But Yushchenko has delivered what Washington intended: the 2 countries are barely in speaking terms. Now he can be thrown to the dogs: his ratings are 3%!! No doubt he will take refuge in America and spend his hard-earned cash. Just like Reza Palhevi or Marcos before him. |

Viktor Yushchenko is like the most amazing President. How in the world is it possible that he not be re-elected? I'm sure this is just a pre electoral media scare to bolster awareness of the elections. Viktor has to win. He's the bomb. His ratings are actually very good. Go Viktor Yushcenko!!!!!!!!!! He would definitely have my vote.

2 I disagree with you but say that you are correct about Yushenko being a puppet and the Revolution was staged. Do you think the US pulled it off all by themselves and your own country and Europe wasn't complicit? You give us too much credit. Come on. |
