Secret deal with Japan dangerous, group says
A group opposed to the Japan-Philippines Economic Partnership Agreement (JPEPA) has said the Supreme Court decision upholding the secrecy of the negotiations on the said deal will set a dangerous precedent on future economic pacts that the Philippines will enter into.
In a statement, the No Deal! JPEPA said that the Supreme Court, with its decision on the trade deal, legitimizing the marginalization of ordinary Filipinos from having access to pertinent information on economic treaties such as the JPEPA that will have a deep impact on their interest and livelihood.
"This will embolden the executive branch to enter into more trade and investment agreements and make commitments without due regard to their harsh effects on various sectors, especially the poor and marginalized," No Deal! JPEPA said. "Trends indicate that bilateral trade and investment agreements are on the rise in recent years, with the Philippines having pending negotiations with the European Union, the U.S., China and others aside from its economic deal with Japan."
The coalition also hit executive secretary Eduardo Ermita's statement that international agreements "should be handled with care" and with "confidentiality."

By the time Gloria Arroyo finishes her term in 2010, she will have inked up so many secret deals with many countries and many foriegn companies.

true! your crystal ball says it all. thanks for seeing the future. your truthful assumption is so great. how about kris aquino will she still be with james yap? don't hold back, tell us all. you know the future more than God.
|

I wonder why she want it to keep secret when the filipino people has the right to know any government transaction after all the filipino people the one paying all those contract. She don't want the filipino people to know because she sold every filipino people soul to the highest bidder. What make you think Gloria Arroyo, Going to step down comes 2010, There is plenty of money to be made while squatting in Malacanyang Palace. I'll say, She's going to do everything in her power to stay into her stolen power forever. God forbid. Kick her ass out because she's the problem. |

Thats an insult to Jane: Inteligent. If you don't have anything good to say, Don't say it at all. First of all Jane never claim she knows everything nor she's god. She's only stating what she think. |
|
Yes your spelling of Intelligence is an insult to jane. If Jane farts, your multiple aliases and marcell gets a high. |
|
She used to believe she is. But now, she's taking Thorazine and Prozac. Let's not overburden her. She might get into relapse. |
|
Wow, more interesting than Marcell whatever idenity you assume. However, your spelling is atrocious or is it attrocious! |
|
..don't forget her inhalation of Rugby. |
|
Oh, Well. It just too bad if my spelling is wrong. If you don't understand what I write thats your problem not mine. And please, Don't farts here its already stink. |
|
LA loves marcell is the one true identity he holds. What a desperate loser. |

(re-posted) Hey working, what’s happening to the forums? Lol! No more sincere insights, no expression of views, no interesting discussions, no spirited debates, no socializing, no hello, no hi - just plain teasing, mimicry, heckling, and taunting?! Oftentimes it takes a non-Filipino poster to interrupt the bashing and redirect the flow of discussion, but soon enough the threads go back to sheer mockery. I think the forums should have an exciting mix of serious discussions, debates, friendly messaging, and bashing as well. What do you think? |
very harsh. bwahahaha. |
|
In the most perfect scenario that’s how it should be. Luckily, we are in an imperfect world and everybody just wants to be happy. And I think this is exactly how fun is all about. Don’t be so bookish. Bwahahaha. |

I know, lol! But funny should be mixed with serious to make the forums more exciting. There should be deviation from monotony, otherwise the funny becomes boring and the serious becomes wanting. Pag may biglang sinumpong na foreigner na mag-post ng serious, nagmumukha tuloy tayong tanga, lol! Funny mixed with serious. Fighting mixed with socializing. Not perfect but ideal and workable :) |
I totally agree except with the foreigner thing. We never know. He could be the one feeling stupid for injecting intelligent responses to a moronic chitchat. |

I'm not talking about those who butt in about the moronic chitchats, but those who suddenly pop up in the middle of chitchatting filipino posters and post sensible comments about the original topics of threads, mindless of the other chitchatting filipino posters as if we dont deserve his attention because he has something intelligent to say. You know what I mean? Lol! Napapalaban tuloy ako ng debate sa mga ganong non-Filipino posters kasi defensive ako, trying to prove that we, filipinos, are also capable of critical thinking, lol! |
That's pathetic. We're simply not a thinking race. Why bother? Too much pride huh! hehehe |

What is wrong with what i have been doing all this time? I never had sincere insights, I keep forcing my views, I don't like interesting discussions, I like debates but not the spirited, I never socialize like marcell, I hate hello's and hi's - But i love to tease dem Filipino haters...see marcell mimics me. I will always heckle and taunt those who see anything good in my country. Look at all my postings as Gloria Kawatan, Ditch Her Out, Fertilizer Scam, Nobody Want Her, Brainless Philippines, Civil War, Gloria Lavandera. Its all there. Philippines is hopeless. You think i have a multiple personality disorder? So what if i have. No one listens to me that is why i need all these aliases. You people who see something positive in the country they call the Philippines are going against my message that there is NOTHING good here at all. If there is then that means PGMA is doing something remotely good. No there is nothing good. Filipinos are hopeless. My hero marcell sees that. For him filipinos are worthless toilet cleaners. Its the same thing as my messages. I speak the truth and marcell and i know that you people feel that truth hurts. I will keep hurting you people with my negativity. Philippines will never amount to anything good. Pessimism is the only way to live. |

Well, yes. I guess I cant deny being guilty of that Filipino pride. It's perhaps my defensive mechanism against the stereotyped image of pinoys for various reasons like the OFW phenomenon, lagging economy and democracy, corruption, etc. But at least I fight back instead of being passive or apathetic. I'm not the type who says I dont care, because I care, and I'm just too happy and proud to show it :) |
