Swine flu vaccinations to continue in doctors' practices

It has been announced that the swine flu vaccination centre in Luxembourg City is to close. After five weeks of swine flu vaccinations across the country, the Department of Health has advised that the Campus Centre Forum Geesseknäppchen in Luxembourg City will close its doors Saturday, November 28, 2009 at 5pm.

At a press conference concerning drugs, Health Minister Mars di Bartolomeo made his second attempt in his fight to bring the total smoking ban in Luxembourg up to date and emphasised its enormous importance. Bartolomeo wants to ensure that the smoking ban will be extended to restaurants bars, cafes and nightclubs.

Tax agreement signed between Luxembourg and Spain

On Tuesday, an addendum of non-double taxation agreement between Spain and Luxembourg was signed by the finance ministers of both countries. During the The Economic and Financial Affairs Council (ECOFIN) meeting in Brussels, Luc Frieden Luxembourg’s finance minister and his Spanish counterpart Elena Salgado Mendez, who will assume the Presidency of the Ecofin from 1 January 2010, signed an amendment on the convention of double taxation to allow the exchange of information in specific cases as requested by the OECD.

Explosion and fire in Bonnevoie, Luxembourg

A raging fire broke out in an apartment block in Bonnevoie, Luxemboourg at about 11:20pm yesterday evening. A fire broke out on Monday evening in an apartment block in Bonnevoie destroying the entire building. The fire spread so rapidly that it threatened adjacent neighbours' houses. Rugby update: Luxembourg wins 9-3 against Finland

Luxembourg won 9-3 in a gritty, error strewn match. Alexander Goodhew kicked three penalties that were enough to see of an aggressive Finnish side. Centre, Alan Dunn came close in a furious opening exchange. The Finns to their credit dominated at the scrum and in the loose. "Spice", the biggest drug threat in Luxembourg?

The synthetic drug named "Spice" according to reports, causes more than 80 deaths per million inhabitants in Luxembourg, and its use continues to spread.
