The Urumqi Mass Incident

More abuse from the conquering CCP.

There was little immediate explanation for how so many people died. The government blamed Uighur exiles for stoking the unrest. Exile groups said the violence started only after police began violently cracking down on a peaceful protest.

The demonstrators who gathered Sunday had been demanding justice for two Uighurs killed last month during a fight with their Han Chinese co-workers at a factory in southern China. Accounts differed over what happened next in Urumqi, but the violence seemed to have started when a crowd of protesters refused to disperse.

The CCP censors any negative news, so these rapes, if they happened, were never reported. It sounds to me like a slick "re-crafting" of the Falun Gong accusations about CCP torture techniques with cattle prods.

But now that they are useful to explain a CCP slaughter of Uighurs, these incidents are to be accepted as fact?

Yes, your government has many faults.

Deal with THAT, the true cause of these problems, instead of just trying to demonize these Uighurs in standard CCP political cartoon terms.

I am in China right now on vacation, and people here are pissed, not at the CCP but at the rioters. Funny thing is more of these riots occur the more people supports governmental crack down. So say whatever you want, the fact is the more this happens the more actual support the government will get for cracking down on these bastards.

You are being used. Xinhua reported that there were no rapes...that an ex-factory worker started the rumor. Then a mob of Chinese attacked the Uygur dorm.

And lets say it was true. A mob of Chinese still attacked the dorm of innocent Uygurs. And then there was anger about this in Xinjiang. Then there was a peaceful protest. Then the protest turned violent. We don't know why it turned violent. We don't know who died.

But we know that Uygurs are treated as second-class citizens in China. We know that in Xinjiang, Uygurs and Han do not mix. We know that Chinese government (as usual) blames outsiders. We know in China we have a Hexie society. What do you make of this?

You realize that in China, just like when the Tibet riots occured, the government shows pictures of injured and hurt Han people, but does not show pictures of injured and dead minorities in order to appeal to your nationalism? You realize that when the police "crack down" on rioters, what they are doing is just shooting people they see in the street?

And you realize that this can blow up much much bigger? The more "crack down" occurs...the more someone's friend or brother or sister gets hurt...the more terrorism you will have in China?

Race never is some quantity susceptible to be finessed into irrelevance by either the best(or misguided) of intentions or cynical policies. A primal unchanging thing of being human when out on the street as the moment of truth dawns and the smell of death is in the air, it's always how you look that counts.

The video is most graphic. Punishment of rapists certainly gives a semblance of the moral courage required for beating unarmed men to death. But the stronger motivator one suspects lies in the glee of giving it to a couple of non-Han Uighur lifeforms. That there were allegedly a couple of violated Han flowers essentially closed the argument.

If it's runaway nationalism it also appeals to raw malleable emotion. The patch that Beijing fervently deploys over the glaring economical inequalities. For the bottom rung Han males living in the congested loud bedlam of factory dormitories with hardly any privacy, a bit of blood sport could very well pass for legitimate entertainment on any given evening absent any viable alternatives, given the correct or correctly contrived moral indignation, and some individuals because they were not Han were made to run the gauntlet of thrashing pipes and recreational killers.

over 100 people dead, and I don't think those are the rioters. You know what people here are saying? They are calling for the blood of rioters so hopefully, as you said, they will be some shooting to appease the public.
You just don't understand anything about chinese society do you? The sense of unity and nationalisim is strong. Besides, in public eye, this is a case of "they started it and we just have to finish it".
