    Tonga's domestic carrier won the bid against two other airlines, including one affiliated with former Deputy Prime Minister Samiu Vaipulu and another that was disqualified. Real Tonga operated the aircraft in the pas until Government Tevita Palu said today the operating conditions required that Government must complete all requirements, including safety certification of the aircraft by the International Civil Aviation Organization, among others, before it is handed over to them to operate.

    The boats which have been named by the King are for three islands, 'Alotolu for Tongatapu, 'Amolua for Ha'apai and Kapakau-'o-Tafahi for Vava'u. The boats, along crew training and maintenance, were financed with $1.7 million pa'anga under a Tonga Police Development Program ( Police Commissioner Stephen Caldwell said the first role of the police is to protect citizens and the three new rescue boats and trained staff will ensure more lives are saved in Tonga's coastal waters.

Launched in 2012, the campaign is a joint effort by Nishi Trading, the Ministry of Health through Tonga Health, and Ministry of Education aimed to improve the health and well being of school children in Tonga by teaching them about the benefits of eating a variety of fruit and vegetables in order to have life long healthy eating habits.
