    The 88-MW Mount Coffee hydropower plant in Liberia has gone into operation after extensive modernization, with startup of the first turbine-generator unit celebrated Dec. 15. According to a press release from Voith, Liberia's President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf and 300 international guests were present at the celebration. Voith supplied new Francis turbines, generators , control technology, and electrical and mechanical power plant equipment.
