    The first artist to record Bob Crewe and Bob Gaudio's "The Sun Ain't Gonna Shine " was Frankie Valli, for whom it was the first solo single in a decade after a string of hits with the Four Seasons. Valli's 1965 single didn't make much of an impression, though, especially compared to how the Walker Brothers fared with the same song the following year: The newly titled "The Sun Ain't Gonna Shine Anymore" ended up becoming the biggest hit of the Walkers' career, topping the UK singles chart and climbing to #13 in the US.
