    It was something of a family affair when Toots & The Maytals and his daughter Leba Thomas took to the stage of the O2 Academy Newcastle Despite conflicting reports as to the actual venue - the gig was originally scheduled to take place at the Boiler Shop and still advertised as such in some quarters right up to show-time - the big crowd clearly proved that there was a clamour, across an impressively wide age group, to see the return to the region of Toots & the Maytals after a four-year absence. The relocation to the O2 imposed some timing limitations because of prior commitments at the venue but the show started at 8.15pm with Toots's daughter Leba Thomas demonstrating a big voice and dynamic vocal range.
