    Although none of the tunes in the concert were truly Scottish, the evening still came across that way, especially beginning with Sir Peter Maxwell Davies' "An Orkney Wedding, With Sunrise". This thirteen minute work, reminiscent of Aaron Copland's "Billy the Kid" in its loose style of stringing folk-like melodies together, had some intriguing gritty sections in-between the melodies, but the piece did not hold together well.
