    Music producer John Kuker, who renovated the dilapidated studio where Nirvana recorded In Utero, has died at the age of 40. Kuker launched the Seedy Underbelly recording studio in Minneapolis, Minnesota in the 1990s, and bands including Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, Girls Against Boys, The Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Silverchair, Semisonic, and The Soviettes all recorded at the facility. He later opened branches of Seedy Underbelly in New York and Los Angeles, and in 2012, he purchased the rundown Pachyderm Studio in Minnesota, where Nirvana recorded tracks for their 1993 album, to renovate it.
