All the characters are supposed to be too hard bitten, too cynical, too bureaucratic or compromised for the viewer to grant anyone such sincerity of belief.

The show's production company AMC have taken out an ad on acting listings website Backstage - calling for people to come forward and play zombies - but there's a twist. The ad reads that applicants "must be able to bend their arms and shoulders in various unique angles", adding that shooting will begin in September.

But that only takes into account retail sales, and according to a tweet from industry analyst Daniel Ahmad PUBG is now 2017's best-selling game on any single platform.
