    The item I can't get over from the David Roberts piece on nerds and politics is the diagram of the political spectrum, perfectly symmetrical and data-free, with rationality in the middle and identical rainbows at the two fringes. The guy took considerable time to illustrate carefully just how firm a grip he had on the wrong end of the stick.
