    An "extensive" outside audit of the state energy office from 2008 through 2010 detected no evidence of "fraud, abuse or waste" - a finding that didn't surprise the former Democratic lawmaker who ran the operation for one-term Gov. Bill Ritter. The expanded audit was ordered after a blistering 2012 performance review by the state auditor's office that revealed that the operation, overwhelmed with handling stimulus money, was unable to demonstrate whether $252 million had been spent properly.
