Cronin, of Manchester Road East, Walkden , has since been fined an additional A 1,000 and yesterday, he was sentenced to three years and 14 weeks in prison at the Court of Appeal in London.

Police release e-fit of attacker who held knife to woman's throat and attempted to rape her POLICE have released an e-fit of a man who held a knife to a woman's throat and attempted to rape her before she bravely fought him off. As reported in the Bolton News, a woman was walking her two dogs in wasteland near to Bedford Avenue, Walkden , shortly before 7pm on Sunday, April 23. The woman in her 30s was approached by a man who asked her for the time before grabbing her and pulling her in to some trees where he threatened her with a knife and ordered her to have over her jewellery.
