    A huge field gathered for the opening race of the 2017 Cornwall Grand Prix Road Race Serie - the Storm Force 10 miles in Camborne on Sunday. There were stunning individual victories for the second successive year from Peter Le Grice and Emma Stepto and a battle royal for the honours in the Men's team competition.

    Since being founded in 1979 JD Wetherspoon pubs have become a fixture on high streets up and down the country - and in Cornwall it's no different. Since Falmouth's The Packet Station opened in March 2003, others have followed and after the opening of The Coinage Hall in Helston in November 2015 it means there are now 10 Wetherspoon pubs in the county ensuring that punters are fed and watered.

A respected solicitor, he rose to become provincial grand master of Cornwall's Freemasons as a member of the St Gluvias Lodge and was a driving force in raising large sums of money for charities and deserving causes.

    Cornwall has seen a number of new vegan cafes and restaurants opening across the county over the past couple of months which has left us asking - is Cornwall turning vegan? But the owner of a new vegan beach hut cafe in St Austell said she thought veganism was on the rise, particularly among teenagers who have access to "powerful documentaries" online. Bodmin town centre is the latest venue to get a new vegan restaurant, which is currently called Dolly's but due to change to Greens and Beans in January.
