Andy Kent, who was born in Cornwall and now lives in Perranporth, was an aircraft engineer in the RAF from 1984-91 and now volunteers with the Addaction project, which supports veterans with substance misuse issues.

Twenty-two people died, and 64 injured, when a suspected suicide bomber detonated a device outside the venue at the end of an Ariana Grande concert.

    THE funeral service has taken place at the Kernow Chapel, Penmount Crematorium, for Lionel George James Smith, of Bodmin, who died peacefully at Penrice Hospital, St Austell, on March 25, aged 91. Lionel, who was always known as Jim, was born at Penstraze, near Truro, on March 10, 1926, the son of Ernest and Maude Smith. He was educated at Truro High School and later attended Truro Cathedral School where he captained the school's rugby team, was the senior NCO in the school's Combined Cadet Force and also won trophies for cross-country running.
