    Two Bideford used car dealers who admitted selling dangerous and unroadworthy second-hand cars were sentenced at Exeter Crown Court on Thursday. Paul Hussey, who now lives in South Wales but was formerly the landlord of Quigley's Custom House in Bridgland Street, Bideford, received a four-month suspended sentence and was ordered to carry out 200 hours unpaid work.

Due to its current popularity, it's not unusual to see pictures popping up on your Facebook feed of groups of mates sat on the sands enjoying a beer and a Laksa - but have you ever seen Barricane in this light before?! The above image, found in the USA's Library of Congress Online Catalog, is said to be a photomechanical print - a mechanical reproduction of a photo image that is printed in ink - of an image taken between 1890 and 1900.

    It comes after the store's administrators announced that North Devon's only branch of the iconic high street chain would be opening its doors for the final time on Saturday, July 30. The store is one of 30 to shut in the second wave of store closures, which in total will see more than 700 workers lose their jobs. BHS initially went into administration back in April, before administrators Duff & Phelps announced on June 2 it had taken the decision to "wind down" the business after no buyers were found.
