After nine years of being held at Melksham's Christie Miller Sports Centre, the Trainwest Model Railway Exhibition found a new home at the Springfield Community Campus, with more than 2,500 visitors over the weekend.

    NEIGHBOURS watched on in horror as a Melksham family pushed a burning caravan off their driveway into the road minutes before it turned into a towering inferno. At around 6.30pm on Friday a caravan parked on the driveway of the Cleverley family in Rowan Court, a cul-de-sac off Hazelwood Road, caught fire by unknown means.

Steven Larsen, 24 of Townsend, Great Cheverell was arrested, and charged with the possession of a bladed article after an incident on March 22. A 61-YEAR-OLD woman from Chippenham was handed a A 90 fixed penalty notice by police on March 21 after she was caught by security guards trying to steal A 9.97 worth of goods from Hallmark in The Shires, Trowbridge. A RED Nissan X-Trail was damaged on Wednesday and Thursday nights last week, when it was scratched when it was parked in Rutland Close, Trowbridge.

    A MELKSHAM man who allegedly slashed the neck of a pub customer with a glass has been charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent. Steven Robins, 29, of Berryfield Park, was charged following an incident at the West End Inn last Wednesday night around 11.15pm, in which a 21-year-old man, also from Melksham, suffered a gash to his neck requiring 13 stitches.
