    A man threatened a pensioner with a knife at a steam railway booking office before stealing more than A 1,000. The man, thought to be in his 40s or 50s, fled from the Launceston Steam Railway, in Cornwall, with a "four-figure sum" at around 16:10 BST on Sunday.

    The Highways Agency has released a list of planned roadworks which will take place in Cornwall between January 26 and February 1. An eastbound lane of the A30 will be closed at Stowford, near Launceston, for barrier works, from 7:30pm-6am on January 27 and 28. An eastbound carriageway of the A30 at Liftondown, near Launceston, will be closed from 7:30pm-4am from January 29-30 due to surveys being carried out. A westbound lane of the A30 will be closed between Carminnow Cross and Innis Down, near Bodmin, for drainage works until March 20. A 50mph speed limit will be in place.
