    A 37-year-old woman driver from Praa Sands is to appear in court next week charged in relation with the death of a motorcyclist in July. Police investigating the death of Mitchell Gilbert, 25, from Hayle, who died following a collision with a car on the A30 at St Erth, have charged Lydia Beacham, with causing death by careless or inconsiderate driving.

    Emergency services were called to the scene at around 7.15am, after a man on a Honda motorcycle was in a collision with a Toyota Auris at Station Approach, between Hayle and Penzance. The man, in his 20s and from west Cornwall, sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene, while the 37 year old woman driver of the car, from Penzance, has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving.

A fire service spokesperson said: "Two dogs were rescued from the property and all persons were accounted for with one casualty being treated for shock and smoke inhalation at scene by the ambulance service."
