    Merlin Entertainments have released a statement saying that the company will ensure compensation is provided to all of the injured passengers involved in The Smiler collision at Alton Towers on Tuesday, June 2, which saw 16 people injured, five of which have been hospitalised. Fire and ambulance crews worked for hours to free the passengers and treat the seriously wounded on the ride, who were later airlifted to major trauma centres.
