    I AM a local truck driver and have been travelling along the A515 from Longcliffe to Birmingham since 1991 and in that time I've spent hours queuing through Ashbourne, which has never really been top of my list of activities. My alternative route would be Via Gellia, Cromford, Belper, Duffield, Allestree, A38 South, but Belper, Duffield and Ambergate all suffer from the same as Ashbourne - unsuitable for HGVs - so it's a left turn through Sawmills, up to Ripley.
