    Authorities are investigating after an inmate charged with slaying his mother and stepfather apparently committed suicide at the Buncombe County Detention Facility. A news release from the Buncombe County Sheriff's Office says that officers discovered 26-year-old Vincent Thomas Wesley Franklin attempting suicide around 12:10 a.m. Franklin was charged with two counts of first-degree murder in the killings of his mother and stepfather, and he was a suspect in the death of a woman with whom he'd had a child.
