    Friends and co-workers solemnly celebrated the inspirational life of Robert "Bobby" Bernardo at the Potrero Hill Recreation Center last month. Earlier this summer Bernardo succumbed to leukemia; he was 54. For 13 years Bernardo served San Francisco's homeless, first at the Redwood Center, then as part of the San Francisco Homeless Outreach Team , where his job was initially to engage the homeless on city streets before being promoted to case manager.
