The crowd at the thoroughbred track's biggest race was capped at 50,000 this year to ensure safety during a year when there is a lot of speculation and excitement that Triple Crown winner American Pharoah may run. The New York Racing Association , which manages Saratoga Race Course, Aqueduct and Belmont Park, is off to a strong start this season with on-track wagering up more than 18 percent through the first 15 days.
