    An inmate at the Snake River Correctional Institution died Monday of apparent natural causes, according to the Oregon Department of Corrections. Mark Buckner, 56, told his cellmate around 2:15 p.m. that he wasn't feeling well, the other inmate told prison staff, Buckner became unresponsive and he died about 15 minutes later as he was being tended to, the corrections department said.

Nancy DeWitt, from the Institute of Applied Ecology, along with Corrine Coffman, from the Bureau of Land Management operated Morley Nelson Snake River Birds of Prey National Conservation Area, were on hand to offer information about the number of species of owls within Oregon.
