Begun in 1847 as one of four suspension aqueducts on the Delaware and Hudson Canal, it was designed by and built under the supervision of John A. Roebling, future engineer of the Brooklyn Bridge.

    NARROWSBURG – The Upper Delaware Council's 28th Annual Family Raft Trip drew 115 individuals to the Upper Delaware Scenic and Recreational River on Aug. 7. Rafters launched from the Skinners Falls Base in the Town of Cochecton and enjoyed a scenic 10-mile paddle to the Ten Mile River Access in the Town of Tusten. The turnout included 100 adults and teens, and 15 children ages 5-12, to take advantage of the livery's discounted rates and the trip coordination provided by the The nonprofit organization highlights a different section of the river each year for the family raft trip, which takes place on the first Sunday of August.
