    A federal judge partially granted a motion to dismiss in a class action lawsuit against the National Football League for allegedly supplying painkillers to players illegally. U.S. District Judge William Alsup ruled on two sets of motions to dismiss by the NFL based on preemption under Section 301 of the Labor Management Relations Act; and the statute of limitations and improper pleading, according to the order filed Dec. 17 in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California.
