    A Columbia County man was charged in U.S. District Court on Monday with selling heroin and fentanyl that caused the fatal overdoses of a married couple weeks apart last summer Federal prosecutors say Jacob Ebel, 29, of Niverville, sold heroin and fentanyl on July 3 to one of the spouses who died. He sold a lethal amount of heroin and fentanyl to the other spouse between July 18 and July 23. Ebel was arraigned Monday before Magistrate Judge Daniel Stewart on an indictment charging him with distributing the drugs that resulted in a death and of conspiring to possess and distribute heroin and fentanyl.
