Playing without regulars Marshall Harris and Tom Koopman, who were sidelined due to injuries, The Citadel erased a nine-point second-half deficit by virtue of drilling 13 3-pointers, the Bulldogs' highest total since making 14 against Montreat in November 2013, but Virginia Tech allowed just two field goals over the final 5:45 and escaped with a narrow home win in the first matchup between the former SoCon rivals since 1966.
