    Jan 1, 2017 | Rock M Nation

Happy January 1, Mizzou fans. The 2016 calendar year wasn't particularly kind to the Rock M universe - J'den Cox was very nearly the source of the three best Mizzou stories of the year by himself - and the calendar flips with Mizzou continuing a worst-since-the-1960s stretch on the basketball court.

    Dec 30, 2016 | Rock M Nation

After a week off, we're back and right in time as the SEC has entered Conference play and will spend the next three months devouring itself and in some cases its chances at meaningful post season play! When last we met, the SEC was winning the games they were supposed to and taking care of business in the non conference portion of their schedule. What a difference two weeks can make! Directional schools paid to visit mostly empty fancy arenas and getting wins over SEC teams is becoming the new normal.

    Dec 30, 2016 | Rock M Nation

So! Remember how Lipscomb was by far the most winnable game that Missouri had left on the schedule? Let's check the game recaps to see how that went! With last night's 81-76 loss to the Fightin' Bisons, Missouri is now 22-19 at home under Kim Anderson. Take out games against teams ranked worse than 250th by Ken Pomeroy - a really low bar - and that record falls to 13-18.

    Dec 29, 2016 | Rock M Nation

    Dec 28, 2016 | Rock M Nation

Don't look now, but the Southeastern Conference isn't the worst of the major conferences! Thanks to Washington State and Oregon State being awful and sub-200 in KenPom the SEC slides in ahead of the Pac12 in the conference ratings. Ahead of them are the Big 12, ACC, Big East and Big 10. A few teams have just a game left in their non-conference schedule and at the end of January the SEC-Big 12 challenge happens but with the conference season starting on Thursday, I thought it was an appropriate time to see where everyone is.
