Gionta is one of 517 student-athletes across Divisions I, II and III in contention for the national honor, which is the most in the award's history. The selection committee will narrow down the field to 30 student-athletes who have completed their eligibility and earned their undergraduate degree this past academic year---10 in each Division---in early September.

Division I attendance in 2015-16 came in at 8,286,356, the highest total in the 35 years of NCAA women's basketball, eclipsing the previous best of 8,177,111 set in 2012.

    Marist men's lacrosse's lefthanded attackman Joseph Radin was one of 43 United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Division I Scholar All-American selections, it was announced June 10. Prior to his final season in red and white, Radin was the first Marist student-athlete to be selected in the Major League Lacrosse Collegiate Draft when the Charlotte Hounds picked him up with the 45th overall pick in the sixth round. He was named to the initial Tewaaraton Award Watch List and earned the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Year award for the second consecutive season.

    This Sunday, the Marist College Men's rowing team finished their season competing in the Varsity 4+ category at the Intercollegiate Rowing Association National Championship Regatta at Mercer County Park in Princeton, NJ. The Marist crew began the regatta on Friday racing to a 4th place showing in the heats in the morning and then again in the repechage in the afternoon.
