However, Chase Elliott finally passed Larson down the frontstretch with 18 laps to go in the stage, and held off a hard charge by Larson and Joey Logano the final 10 laps to take the stage flag. Kyle Larson took the lead on a Lap 15 restart and never surrendered it in the opening stage, leading 22 laps in total and taking the stage flag.
