    In what should come as no surprise, Sunday after the finale, Kyle Larson , driving the #42 Target Chevrolet for Chip Ganassi, took home the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series 2014 Rookie of the Year honors, giving Larson his third consecutive Rookie of the Year title across three Series, the 2012 NASCAR K&N Pro Series East Rookie of the Year, and the 2013 NASCAR Nationwide Series Rookie of the Year. Larson didn't make the 2014 Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup but he was only 16 points behind the final driver in 16th place to make the Chase and was the highest finishing driver in the season standings who did not qualify in the 16 Chase field.
