Billed as Northern California's largest salsa music and dance event, the Festival de la Isla will be Aug. 20 in Pena Adobe Park, on Pena Adobe Road, off eastbound Interstate 80. Organizers predict more than 1,000 Latin music fans will gather under the historic park's towering shade-giving oak trees for the festival, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., this year themed “One Strong Family.” As in years past, early bird ticket specials are in effect, James Barrera, a festival promoter, noted in a press release issued earlier this month.
