This month's film series is titled Love Walked In. Screening Feb. 20 is the classic "Now, Voyager," a nonrated film from 1942 that runs 118 minutes.

    January came and went in a flash without my writing about the final film on my list of 10 Classics to see in 2014, NOW, VOYAGER . So I resolved I would do that before turning the page on February 1st! NOW, VOYAGER was one of my favorite films on last year's list, a marvelous example of the studio system at its finest.

    In a 1942 Hollywood movie, Paul Henreid lights a cigarette for Bette Davis in the film Now, Voyager. The Windsor Health Unit wants all films depicting smoking to be rated R. The Windsor-Essex County Health Unit issued a press release, raising its concern about smoking in film, to coincide with the increasingly popular Windsor International Film Festival - which started Saturday and runs till Nov. 9. "We're trying to convey the message that young people are susceptible to images they see on film," Theresa Sarkis, the health unit's youth engagement specialist for tobacco prevention, said Monday.
