    Kick-Ass director Matthew Vaughn has insisted he hasn't given up on the cult vigilante franchise - and revealed that he is working on a prequel focusing on Chloe Grace Moretz's Hit-Girl character and Nicolas Cage's Big Daddy. Vaughn's original Kick-Ass film, based on the comic book of the same by Mark Millar and John Romita, Jr., became a cult hit following its release in 2010, but his 2013 sequel Kick-Ass 2 proved less popular.

Based on the comic book from Mark Millar and John Romita, Jr., 'Kick-Ass' told the story of Dave Lizewski , a teenager who decides to become a real-life superhero.
