    Festival 56 opens the musical "Gypsy" at the Grace Performing Arts Center, 316 S. Main St. in Princeton at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, July 2. It will play through July 11. In addition to 7:30 p.m. performances on Tuesday, July 7, Thursday, July 9, Friday, July 10, and Saturday, July 11, there will be matinees at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 5, Wednesday, July 8, and Saturday, July 11. "Gypsy" is loosely based on the memoir of Gypsy Rose Lee, the famous striptease artist. It is largely the story of Mama Rose, Lee's driven mother who, as the proverbial overpowering stage mother, both promotes and undermines her daughters.
