    In late 2010, at the EICMA show in Milan, Italy, Triumph pulled the covers off two all-new middleweight adventure tourers, the street-oriented Tiger 800 and off-road-ready Tiger 800 XC, and a few weeks later it hosted a world press launch for both bikes in Barcelona, Spain. Impressed by their torquey in-line triple, sure-footed agility and all-around user-friendliness, the complementary pair shared our Motorcycle of the Year award for 2011.

    In 2010, when the Triumph Tiger 800 was launched, I said it was the best handling bike in the entire universe, including Planet Zog, which as you probably know, is where the aliens are still holding Elvis until he tells them what he did with Lord Lucan. You've probably already read my rave review of the 800XCx , the off road-biased version of the 800, with its long travel suspension designed to soak up bumps, its 21in front and 17 in rear wheels to make handling less twitchy on dirt tracks, and its spoked wheels because it's a lot easier replacing spokes in Baluchibackwardstan than finding a welder for banjaxed standard wheels.

    Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India is set to launch its much awaited new 160cc motorcycle for India around the year end. While little else is known about the bike at the moment, currently, Honda's 150cc bike portfolio in India consists of the CB Unicorn and the CB Trigger, both premium commuter bikes that haven't achieved as much success in the segment as Honda would like them to.

    Triumph's Bonneville-based 'modern classics' range has been a hit with riders and builders since its launch in 2001. Initially released as a carbureted 790cc parallel twin, Triumph later upped the capacity to 865cc and switched to fuel injection.
