    And I came up with this: Marlins - please don't trade Fernandez After the Miller trade the haul they would get would be massive from the Dodgers which would make them better long term probably get Urias de Leon Thompson puig and more Mets- do sign a big bat to a huge contract, reason being it helps them next year but will decline over time and in 2-3 years they're going to have to start paying those pitchers huge and won't have enough money for all nats - don't trade Strasbourg even though he only has 1 year left he can fetch a haul from the large market teams and if the nats don't plan on resigning him than trading him now makes most sense

The Cardinals replaced the departed John Lackey in the rotation by giving a five-year, $80 million deal to Mike Leake, who spent 2015 between the Reds and Giants.     The Braves' roster has seen quite the turnover this off-season, especially from a pitching standpoint. Shelby Miller is an Arizona Diamondback after one season in Atlanta, and the Braves have more young prospect pitchers than the San Francisco Giants have World Series victories on even-numbered years.

    Do we wait until after the 2018 season to spend big on any free agents? I don't really see any game changing free agents in the next 2 off seasons so I think it would be wise to wait until then and see what we have with our prospects to spend a lot of money other than on the international market.
