    The state Department of Correction says it will close the minimum-security Henryville Correctional Facility in southern Indiana this month in a cost-saving move. The agency says the 140 inmates at the prison about 20 miles north of Louisville, Kentucky, will be moved to prisons in Branchville or Edinburgh, and its 36 staff members will be offered vacant positions at other prisons.

    A January inspection by the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service found the center called Wildlife in Need again had found a tiger enclosure had insufficient fencing, a brown bear had an unknown elbow injury and autopsies had been performed on dead animals. The Courier-Journal reports the center says the USDA report inaccurately depicts "the love, care, and safety" it provides to animals.
