Etchells said his tournament might not be as large as the Central Virginia Invitational Tennis Tournament in Lynchburg - which played its 57th edition last month - or the McDonald's Mid-Atlantic Clay Court Championships in Midlothian, but he said those tournaments had to start somewhere, too, and he is hopeful the Commonwealth Clay Court Open will follow that model of growth.
