    The athletic rivalry between the Oceanside and Camden Hills high school girls lacrosse teams - the only two in the Midcoast - was renewed on Tuesday, April 11 as the programs clashed on Sam Pendleton Field in preseason contests. The matches between the Mariners and Windjammers featured 30 minutes of varsity and 30 minutes of subvarsity play, as the Mariner varsity earned a 4-2 win and the Mariner junior varsity a 10-2 victory.

    The surrounding environment was dab and brown, with not much green to be found, but that did not deter the Oceanside softball team, which hosted a preseason scrimmage with Bangor under fairly warm spring conditions on Tuesday afternoon, April 11 at Thomaston Grammar School. With much of the preseason, thus far, spent indoors in the gymnasiums or in parking lots, the Mariners and Rams were happy to get on an actual field with dirt and grass, no matter the color scheme, to hit, throw, pitch and run the bases.
