    Aims Community College will host a graphic design contest for students at Aims, the University of Northern Colorado, Colorado State University and Front Range Community College. The contest, called the NoCo Design Slam, takes place 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Oct. 14 in Ed Beaty Hall Theater on Aims' Greeley campus, 5401 20th St. The event is a warm-up before the American Institute for Graphic Arts Design Slam, which takes place Nov. 11 at the Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design in Denver, according to an Aims news release.

    The Greeley City Council will introduce the rule change that would essentially legalize peaceful begging during a regular meeting at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Greeley-Evans School District 6 headquarters, 1025 9th Ave. The rule change will get a hearing on Oct. 18. Last year, an advocacy group urged the city to change its laws that ban panhandling . The U.S. Supreme Court had just made a decision that protected begging, rendering Greeley's rules against it unconstitutional.
